Position Overview
Zebra is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager with aviation core & shell expertise to lead major airport developments in the San Diego region.
This role requires a leader who understands:
Complex airport infrastructure
Active-airport construction environments
Multi-disciplinary coordination
Stakeholder-heavy project delivery
You will lead projects end-to-end , ensuring alignment across design intent, technical execution, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead architectural delivery for airport core & shell projects (terminals, concourses, support facilities)
Manage all phases: Programming → SD → DD → CDs → CA
Develop and manage schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables
Technical Oversight
Oversee construction documentation and detailing
Coordinate across disciplines:
Structural
MEP
Life Safety
Security Systems
Manage phasing, logistics, and sequencing in active airport environments
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as primary liaison to:
Airport authorities
Clients
Consultants
Lead presentations, design reviews, and coordination meetings
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor internal teams (architects, designers, consultants)
Collaborate with Zebra’s global offices
Drive accountability, quality, and performance
Construction Administration
Oversee RFIs, submittals, and site visits
Coordinate with contractors
Resolve field issues in real time
Ensure alignment with design intent
Required Qualifications
7–25+ years of architectural experience
Proven experience with aviation / airport projects (core & shell required)
Strong knowledge of:
Large-scale building systems
Construction documentation
Airport infrastructure & phasing
Experience With
FAA / TSA / Airport Authorities
Multi-disciplinary consultant teams
Technical Skills
Revit
AutoCAD
Bluebeam
Project scheduling tools
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Architect (RA)
Experience with large hub or international airports
Design-build / alternative delivery experience
Exposure to global project delivery

Base Salary: $90,000 – $150,000 (DOE)
