Job Description

This role performs a wide range of back‑office banking operations that support branch locations and internal departments. The position requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage high‑volume transaction processing in a deadline‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily ACH operations including processing, returns, adjustments, encoding error resolution, and controlled account activity.
  • Manage daily transaction operations such as:
    • Official check balancing
    • Lockbox deposit processing
    • Large item reviews (transactions $5,000+)
    • Non‑posted item reporting
    • Cash vault reconciliation
  • Execute IRS backup withholding, year‑end tax reporting, dormant account processing, and escheatment activities in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Process stop payments, Treasury rate inputs, armored courier onboarding, GL certifications, and customer telephone transfers.
  • Support Online Banking and Cash Management Services, addressing operational issues and resolving customer and branch inquiries.
  • Respond to levies, subpoenas, chargebacks, credit bureau verifications (VODs), and customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate account file maintenance including account updates, name changes, and IRA processing, while ensuring strict confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Perform research, discrepancy resolution, callbacks, and verifications to ensure operational accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of back‑office banking operations experience, including ACH processing, check operations, reconciliations, and account maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Regulation CC
    • IRS reporting and backup withholding
    • Escheatment and dormant accounts
    • NSF processing
    • Chargebacks and operational compliance
  • Proven ability to process high transaction volumes with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with experience working directly with branches, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, research discrepancies, and complete certification and verification functions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
